IMPHAL, Aug 5 � A gym has been opened for the first time in the history of jails in Manipur�s Sajiwa Jail near here.
�It is an encouraging initiative. We will be having a completely new experience. Earlier, we used to practise with stones and bricks,� a jail inmate L Bobby (not real name) in his mid-twenties said.
�The main objective of providing the gym to jail inmates is to help them in becoming a healthy man in the society after they are released from Jail,� said this year�s CNN-IBN Real Hero title holder RK Biswajit Singh, the chief trainer of the Animal Gym at Khoyathong Polem Leikai here.
The Sajiwa jail houses more than 700 prisoners.
