Three cocaine party accused sent to police custody

Guwahati, Aug 21: The court of Sessions Judge, Kamrup (Metro), today allowed police remand for three accused who were arrested from a rave party at Kharghuli recently.

The court forwarded Ashok Barman to six-day police custody, and Vikash Jain and Chayan Saikia to two-day police custody. The court also allowed police to interrogate two other accused, Amit Baruah and Nassif Ahmed, under judicial custody in Central Jail, Guwahati.

Police had recovered huge quantities of drugs, including cocaine, from a high-end apartment at Kharguli and arrested 18 people, allegedly drug peddlers and addicts, from the rave party on August 14. A case was registered in this connection at the Latasil Police Station.
