Guwahati, Oct 29: Former Assam Chief Secretary PP Varma passes away. He was 68.
Varma, a 1978 batch IAS officer, had also served as the Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Social Welfare and Public Health Engineering Departments of Assam.
He had been suffering Covid-19. He breathed his last at about 1.20 am at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital. He was heading the BTR accord implementation committee as its chairperson.
Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has condoled his demise.
