Guwahati, June 26: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Jagat Prakash Nadda on Saturday has appointed Rangia MLA Bhabesh Kalita as the new State President of Assam BJP.
49-year-old Kalita will replace Assam Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass as the new President of Assam BJP.
"The appointment comes into immediate effect," stated an order issued by BJP national general secretary Arun Singh.
Earlier, Ranjeet Dass was serving the position of state BJP Assam President, since January 30, 2017.
