Guwahati, May 23: The first Oxygen Express for Assam was received by Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma at NF Railway's Inland Container Depot at Amingaon here today.
The train, which originated at Jameshpur, carried 80 MT medical oxygen and is the first such train to the North East region. Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and the Railways, Dr Sarma said the excess medical oxygen will be shared with the other NE states.
He added that the state will receive two oxygen express every week.
