Guwahati, June 11: A reliable source information has been received on 10th June 21 that one gas tanker is carrying drugs and accordingly follow up the information under supervision of Joint CP (Security and Intelligence Kamrup Metro).
At about 10.00 pm Kamrup Police finally located the truck bearing no.MN 01 AA 1252 at the parking zone of North Guwahati Bottling plant and two persons have been arrested in this connection, namely - Emmanuel Khrasi (28) S/O Lokho Khrasi of Kanglatongbi Namdilong PS Sekmai, Imphal West District ,Manipur and Kongthokjam Ajay Metei (22) S/O Lt Kongthokjam Binoy of Kanglatongbi PS Sekmai, Imphal West District, Manipur from the tanker.
During the search 250 gm of suspected heroin was recovered by the Kamrup police in presence of Joint Commissioner of Police (Security and Intelligence) Kamrup Metro from the said vehicle. In this regard Changsari PS Case no. 263/21 U/S 22(C)/29 NDPS Act has been registered further investigation is going on.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma congratulated police for the successful operation.
