Guwahati, Jun 7: Amidst all the negative stories on Covid pandemic, a heart-warming story of a family successfully winning over the virus came to light.


The family of Bhagavan Talukdar, a private car driver by profession and resident of Number 2,Madhavpur of Gopalnagar under Noonmati police station of Guwahati has fought against all odds since 2020. Mr. Talukdar has been jobless since 2020 and the family is suffering economic hardship over a year. In the first week of May, 2021, his wife Alaka Talukdar, who has been suffering from cancer since 2014, was found Covid positive.


Within a few days, his 80-year-old mother Nirada Talukdar got infected. After the recovery of his wife and mother, Talukdar himself got infected and scared because he had undergone a cardiac surgery two years ago at GMCH. But, gained courage from his wife's recovery although she is a cancer patient. When he recovered, his 15-year-old daughter and 13-year-old son got infected by the virus. His brother and sister-in-law also became Covid positive subsequently.


Now, all the seven members are free from the virus and people in their locality are feeling relieved by this inspiring story. As per Talukdar, the DSP attached with Noonmati PS Neelotpal Deka himself visited their house in their distress and provided mental and financial support to the family
