Guwahati to host Women�s T20I series against England

GUWAHATI, Feb 28 - Guwahati is all set to host all the three T20Is at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium in Barsapara here from March 4 to 9.

It is for the first time that a single venue will hold all the three T20I matches with the first match scheduled to be played on March 4 followed by the second and third match on March 7 and 9 respectively.

Addressing the media, Devajit Saikia, secretary, Assam Cricket Association said, �From 1983 Assam Cricket Association had organised lots of One-day International matches in the men�s section but this is for the first time Barsapara will host women�s T20I matches. North Stand and South Stand will be opened for the public to witness all the three matches. If required East and West Stand will also be opened.

�To popularise women�s cricket, we have made arrangements for free entry for the public to witness the matches and for that we are getting all sorts of help from Assam Government,� Saikia said.

The England women�s team will arrive at 11.15 am tomorrow while the Indian women�s team will be arriving at 12.55 pm tomorrow. All the players will be staying at Hotel Novotel. Star Sports will broadcast all the three matches. The matches will start at 10 am. Others present on the occasion were, Romen Dutta, president, ACA; Porikhit Dutta, vice president, ACA and Kamakhya Saikia, joint secretary, ACA.
