Guwahati, March 6 (PTI): In an attempt to act as a catalyst to bring a vibrant cinema movement to the Northeast, the first Guwahati International Short Film Festival will be held here next month.
Organised by Creovaent Productions, the two-day festival beginning April 4 the short film competition will be restricted only to filmmakers from the northeast this year. However, short filmmakers from elsewhere can participate in the Indian Kaleidoscope section.
"The short filmmakers from Northeast will have a competition section to showcase their works and the best among them will be taken up by Shamiana for nationwide screening and likely promotion and marketing," says festival director Utpal Borpujari.
