GUWAHATI, Feb 24 � Guwahati took a 99-run first innings lead against Tinsukia as the Elite Group match of the Senior Inter District Cricket Tournament for the Nuruddin Ahmed Trophy ended in a draw at the Nehru Stadium here today.
In reply to Guwahati�s first innings total of 218, Tinsukia were all out for 119. In the second innings, Guwahati declared at 102 for five and the visitors were 72 for six when stumps were finally drawn on the second day of the two-day match.
Resuming at the overnight total of 63 for five, the Tinsukia batsmen hardly could face the accurate Guwahati bowling falling 99 runs short of the host�s innings. Abhilash Gogoi top scored with 21 while Sunny Ahmed added 21.
