Guwahati residence of Sonitpur SP burgled

GUWAHATI, Jan 28 � The Jyotinagar, Guwahati residence of Sonitpur district Superintendent of Police Sanjukta Parashar was robbed of its valuables including gold coins, three watches and several pator mekhela amounting to nearly Rs 4 lakh, police said.

The house here where the mother of SP Sanjukta resides, was emptied of its valuables by thieves after the elderly lady went to be with her daughter�s Tezpur residence for about a week. After returning from Tezpur, Smti Meena Devi, the mother of SP Sanjukta, found to her dismay that their house was wide open before discovering the theft of valuables.

Blood donation camp held

Guwahati, Jan 28 � A voluntary blood donation camp was organised by CPWD Engineer Association and CPWD JE�s Association, Guwahati branch recently in collaboration with GMCH blood bank at CPWD Bamunimaidan campus here. Altogether 55 person donated blood. The camp was inaugurated by BN Malhotra, ADG (ER-II), CPWD. Dr BK Baishya, nuro surgeon and former GMCH blood bank director Dr UC Dutta attended the camp as special guests, a press release stated.

Arogya fair from Friday

GUWAHATI, Jan 28 � The Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, in collaboration with the Directorate of AYUSH, Government of Assam and Indian Chamber of Commerce, Kolkata, are organizing a �National Level AROGYA Fair (Expo)� at the Sonaram High School playground from January 30 to February 2. The Arogya Fair will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi at 3-30 pm on January 30. � Staff Reporter
