GUWAHATI, Jan 6 - The 54th foundation day of Guwahati Refinery was observed with a series of programmes in the refinery complex recently.
The day�s proceedings began with floral tribute to late Hem Baruah, eminent litterateur, parliamentarian and the pioneer whose efforts led to the birth of the refinery.
This was followed by a function at the Guwahati Refinery plant canteen, which was attended by a large gathering of employees. Paban Kumar Barthakur, Principal Secretary, Education and Urban Development Department, attended the function as the chief guest.
In his speech, Barthakur appreciated the collective efforts of the employees of Guwahati Refinery in contributing towards its achievements since the past 54 years.
