Guwahati paddlers dominate, OIL bag title

GUWAHATI, Oct 30 - Guwahati dominated the 63rd Donic Sitaram Agarwala Inter District and State Table Tennis Championship winning six team title out of eight.

In the team events Guwahati won the Cadet boys and girls titles defeating Dibrugarh and Sivasagar respectively while in the junior category Guwahati beat Dibrugarh in boys and girls finals. Guwahati also won the sub junior girls crown beating Golaghat while the women team got the better of Dibrugarh.

Oil India Limited (OIL), comprising of Birdie Boro, Sankab Gautam Baruah, Soneswar Deka, Gautam Hazarika and Tridib Duvarah, clinched the coveted men�s team title downing Golaghat while Dibrugarh became champions in the sub junior girls category getting the better of Guwahati.

In the opens category Mahasweta Batsalya will play against Adrija Sarma (both Ghy), Jasprit Kaur (Nagaon) will play against Jitakhee Mazumder (Ghy), Kritika Upadhaya will play against Sneha Bhowmick (both Ghy) and Mallika Gogoi (Dul) will play against Kakali Lahkar (Ghy) in the women�s quarterfinals.

Competitions in the all open categories are in full swing. All the finals are slated for tomorrow.
