GUWAHATI, March 17 � Guwahati earned 5 points, including a bonus, against Golaghat in their Elite Group senior inter-district cricket match, for the Nuruddin Ahmed Trophy with a 10-wicket victory. In the two-day one-sided match at the Barsapara stadium here today, opting to bat first, Golaghat were skittled out for a scanty 85 in 40.4 overs. Later, Guwahati hit up 89 without loss in just 17 overs. It was a 90-over match, but was completed on the first day itself.
For Golaghat, Angshuan Saikia top scored with 30 while Diku Than added 15. Gor Guwahati Bikash Chetry took 5 wickets for 28 while Mantu Das and Bitop Mahanta took 2 wickets each. Chasing the small total, Guwahati did not have to face any difficulty as openers Rahul Hazarika (47) and Sunil Ranjan Gogoi (37) remained un beaten.
