NEW DELHI, June 11 � People of Chandigarh are happiest in the country while those of Guwahati are the least happy, a survey has found. The survey, conducted by South Korean electronics firm LG showed, amongst the metros, people in Delhi are the happiest while those in Mumbai are the least happy.
�Chandigarh is the happiest city of all and Guwahati is the least happy. Among metros, Delhi is the happiest and Mumbai is least happy,� said the �Life is Good� Happiness Study.
�In the North, which is the happiest zone overall, Chandigarh is the happiest city and Jaipur is the least happy. In the East, which is overall the least happy zone, Patna is the happiest city and Guwahati the least happy,� it added.
Chandigarh is followed by Lucknow, Delhi, Chennai and Bengaluru in the top five slot.
According to the survey: �People of these cities are broadly happy with the amount of time they get to spend with family and quality of relationship they share with their friends and family. They are also happy with the kind of control they have over their life with respect to doing what they want and taking decisions for themselves�.
The bottom five slots were taken by Guwahati, Mumbai, Jaipur, Kochi and Hyderabad. Commenting on the survey, LG Corporate Marketing Head Niladri Datta said: �In our 18th year of operation in India, we decided to get the survey conducted to understand our customers better. We might look at expanding the scope of the survey in more cities in the next edition�. The survey was conducted in 16 cities among 150 people on an average from all socio-economic backgrounds. � PTI
