GUWAHATI, May 17 - On the second day of the three-day Senior Inter District Cricket Tournament final at the Assam Cricket Association�s Barsapara stadium here today, Guwahati were tottering at 84 for four in reply to NF Railway Sports Association�s (NFRSA) first innings total of 301.
NFRSA amassed 301 in 110.3 overs after resuming at an overnight total of 163 for two.
Stumper Kunal Saikia remained the top scorer with 85 off 141 balls. His knock was studded with six boundaries and four sixes. Abir Chakraborty was the main strike bowler for Guwahati with six wickets to his kitty while Gokul Sharma picked up two wickets.
Chasing the big total, Guwahati batsmen soon fell in trouble and started losing wickets at regular intervals. Top three batsmen Rishav Das (10), Rahul Hazarika (2) and Sunzow Brahma (11) were out cheaply while Abhijit Sinha Roy contributed 22.
Experienced batsman Tarjinder Singh and Gokul Sharma were at the crease with 19 and 13 respectively. Now Guwahati will heavily depend on this partnership during the final day tomorrow.
