GUWAHATI, April 3 � Guwahati have the upper hand in the final of the Senior Inter-District Elite Group Tournament against Nagaon here at the Nehru Stadium. After taking a first innings lead of 46 runs on day one, Guwahati today in their second innings scored 235 all out, thereby setting a target of 282 runs for Nagaon. In the second innings, Nagaon were reduced to 9 for 2 in 4 overs on the second day.

The main attraction of Guwahati�s second innings was a well made 53 by Abhijit Singha Roy. Nishanta Bordoloi (37), Sanzaw Brahma (25) and Nayanjyoti Deka (27) also helped Guwahati put up a fighting total in the second innings.

For Nagaon, Bichitra Baruah came out with figures of 4/87 in 42.4 overs. Amit Sinha and Yasnul Haque took 3 and 2 wickets respectively.

Nagaon�s second innings started in disaster with both openers Ashan Rabi and Bhaskar Konwar out for ducks. At close of play, Bhuban Das (0) and Amit Sinha were at the crease. Guwahati�s Bhaskarjyoti Barman and Gokul Sarma took one wicket each.
