GUWAHATI, Oct 12 - As a festive spirit grips the entire nation celebrating Navaratri and Durga Puja, Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi and first lady Prem Mukhi today visited the Kamakhya Temple and paid obeisance to Goddess Kamakhya and sought her blessings for the welfare of the people of Assam.
Since Navaratri is celebrated to commemorate victory of good over evil, the Governor also prayed to the deity so that Assam moves forward expeditiously consigning all vices and promoting all virtues.
Visiting the Shakti shrine today on the third day of Navaratri, Prof Mukhi offered puja at the temple with a sole prayer that the festival augurs an ambience of peace, tranquillity, development and harmonious co-existence.
