Guv visits Hanuman temple

By The Assam Tribune

GUWAHATI, March 31 - Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi today visited the Hanuman temple at Gallypatty here on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.

At the temple, he greeted the people on the auspicious occasion and prayed for the welfare of all sections of the society, a Raj Bhavan press release said.

Mukhi said Hanuman, the great devotee of Lord Ram, is a deity who symbolises energy, devotion and strength. He also urged upon the organising committee to celebrate the occasion in the name of Hanuman Mahotsav rather than Hanuman Jayanti because it is believed that Hanuman is still alive.
