SILCHAR, June 18 � Governor PB Acharya will attend the International Yoga Day celebration here on June 20, jointly organised by the Keshav Smarak Sanskritik Surabhi, Silchar and Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Cachar.
Elaborating on the event that will see a variety of yoga activities and discussions, Subhranshu Shekhar Bhattacharjee, president of the Keshav Smarak Sanskritik Surabhi, said the Governor will inaugurate the new computer centre at the Keshav Bhavan at Ambikapatty and will join the yoga celebration at the Gurucharan College auditorium. �We are organising a pranayam and yoga conference as part of the celebration. People from other religions are also invited to attend the yoga session,� Bhattacharjee said.
Prof Somnath Dasgupta, Vice Chancellor of Assam University, educationist Bimal Nath Choudhury and social activists Sashikant Chouthawale and Deep Chand Sharma will attend the yoga day celebrations. Bhattacharjee said a special yoga week will also be observed from June 22 to 27 at the Kalyan Ashram.
Cachar Deputy Commissioner S Viswanathan has said the district administration has received confirmation on the Governor�s visit to Silchar on June 20.
