GUWAHATI, Oct 20 - Governor Banwarilal Purohit today took part in a cleanliness drive under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan near the Kamrup Deputy Commissioner�s office.
Inaugurating the cleanliness drive, Purohit called upon everybody to contribute to maintain a clean environment and exhibit a sense of responsibility for making the State clean and green. Stressing the need of cleanliness drives, he said cleanliness drives are a wonderful opportunity for people�s participation and act as a force multiplier to raise awareness about the importance of cleanliness in one�s life.
The Governor also emphasised placing dustbins in market places so that garbage is thrown into the dustbin and not littered around. Deputy Commissioner Kamrup Vinod Seshan, other senior officers and staff of the district administration also participated in the cleanliness drive.
