ITANAGAR, Jan 27 - Following the proclamation of President�s Rule in Arunachal Pradesh, Governor JP Rajkhowa has taken over all powers and functions of the State Government with immediate effect and asked the senior officers to ensure �good governance and corruption-free� administration to the people of the State.
The Governor, who had a meeting with senior officers of the State at Raj Bhavan here last evening, advised them to ensure that there is no law and order and security problems in the State, and laws must be enforced in letter and spirit for safeguarding the interest of the common people.
The Governor also instructed the Chief Secretary to issue a �circular� to all the departments and offices to maintain utmost transparency in decision making and execution of various works, and take firm action against corruption.
�Good governance and corruption-free administration must be ensured under President�s Rule, as expected by the people of Arunachal Pradesh,� the Governor told the senior officers.
He also appealed to the people for cooperation in expediting the developmental works and advised them to maintain communal harmony.
