GUWAHATI, Sept 18 - As part of the State Governments initiative to make Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign a success, Governor Banwarilal Purohit led a sapling plantation drive at the Tapesia Lower Primary School campus, while launching the campaign in Boko.

Purohit launched Swachhata Hi Sewa, a fortnight-long campaign on Friday to initiate a flurry of activities to transform the campaign into Jan Andolan and contribute to Mahatma Gandhis dream of a clean India.

A meeting convened on the occasion was organised jointly by the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department in association with the Kamrup district administration. On the occasion, the foundation stone for public toilets at Tapesia was laid in a bid to make the district an open defecation-free area.

Sharing his thoughts on the programme, the Governor sought the cooperation from all sections of the society in making Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign a success in the district.

He sought active involvement of the people of Boko to make Kamrup district an open defecation-free, clean and green zone.
