ITANAGAR, June 26 - Arunachal Pradesh Governor PB Acharya has congratulated the denizens of Pasighat on the selection of the district headquarters of East Siang district, under Centre�s Smart Cities Mission.
Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu had made the announcement of the new list of 30 Smart Cities, including Pasighat, in New Delhi on Friday.
The Governor said that Pasighat, the centennial town of the State and one of the foremost educational hubs of the erstwhile NEFA, deserved to be included in the list of Smart Cities.
He expressed confidence that the first town of the State will now lay new benchmark for excellence in standard of life, health care and educational facilities and basic infrastructure.
