Guv, CM release book

GUWAHATI, July 26 - Governor PB Acharya and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal released a book My Flirtations with Politics authored by Arun Sathe, at a function held at Raj Bhawan here last evening.

The Governor spoke about his association with Sathe and recalled the times they spent together at Nagpur. He described Sathe as a great social activist, an advocate and above all, a person with a great soul.

�For transforming a society into a responsible one, we should also utilise the services of the huge pool of energy of our ex-servicemen, dedicated housewives, women�s groups and Scouts and Guides, etc.,� the Governor said.

For intensifying the growth trajectory of Assam and the North East, Acharya asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi�s flagship programme �Act East Policy� could be a way towards a developed North East. He also lauded Modi�s �Jan Dhan Yojana� launched for the benefit of the poor masses.

Chief Minister Sonowal said good deeds never die and Sathe would be remembered forever for his good works. He stressed eradicating poverty by following the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and Deendayal Upadhaya.

Social reformer and author of the book Sathe said he dedicated the book to the memory of Deendayal Upadhaya.
