GUWAHATI, Oct 23 - Governor Banwarilal Purohit has appealed to all puja committees and the people in general to maintain complete cleanliness in and around puja mandaps during the ongoing festive season.
He exhorted the puja organisers and other conscientious people to maintain cleanliness for a clean State.
In an appeal to the people today, Purohit said, �During festivities one should take special care to keep the surroundings clean. Keeping the puja mandaps along with the peripheral areas clean during and after the festivities will be the right obeisance to our gods and goddesses.�
He said that maintaining �swachchata� all around is the best duty one could render towards his motherland. He called upon the people to lend their hand to cleanliness and transform the Swachh Bharat campaign into a national movement.
