GUWAHATI, April 5 � A roof on the cremation ground of the legendary musician Dr Bhupen Hazarika will soon be erected. The PWD has already constructed the iron posts for the purpose, said sources in Gauhati University (GU).
The University has come forward with a proposal to provide a cement layer on the open space around the cremation ground so as to keep it clean and free from mud.
A garden around the cremation ground would also be developed by the university and a shed for the visitors would also be provided near it. Land filling around the cremation ground would also be done.
The Memorial Committee has decided today to complete works within a month�s time.
The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and the GU�s Dr Bhupen Hazarika Memorial Committee today discussed the issue of demarcation of the boundary between the cremation ground and the National Highway-37.
