GUWAHATI, April 5 - Professor Dilip Borah of the Department of Modern Indian Languages and Literary Studies, Gauhati University, has been invited to present the keynote address on �Gender Issues in Asian Studies� at the 11th Annual Prague Conference on Asian Studies, being organised by the Department of Asian Studies, Metropolitan University Prague, on April 10, according to a press release issued by Prof Mukul Chakravarty, head of the department.
As part of his keynote address, Professor Borah will be discussing in detail the novel Damitar Dastavez, which is based on the problems and social exploitation of women, and is written by Dr Anuradha Sarma, an associate professor of the same department, under the pseudonym Rudrani Sarma.
Incidentally, Dr Sarma was also invited to the said conference, but she would not be able to attend it due to personal reasons, the release added.
