GUWAHATI, Nov 9 � The prestigious NV Gadadhar Memorial Award of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), New Delhi, for the year 2014 has been conferred upon Dr Kandarpa Kumar Sarma, currently Associate Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Technology, Gauhati University.
Dr Sarma is the tenth recipient of the award and the first from Gauhati University. The award was handed over to Dr Sarma at Bengaluru by Wing Commander (retired) DS Pande, Chairperson, IETE Bangalore centre on November 3. Dr Sarma addressed an audience of distinguished invitees on the work leading to the award, a press release said.���
He has been conferred the award in recognition of his contributions towards innovative research in high data rate mobile communication system design with knowledge-aided attributes.
