JALUKBARI, March 8 - The Gauhati University represented India at the South Asian Inter University Youth Festival (SAUFEST) 2017, held at Devi Ahilaya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore, from February 28 to March 4.
A team of 15 students from the GU performed in the folk dance and folk orchestra events at SAUFEST. It may be mentioned that this team qualified for participation in the SAUFEST after winning the gold medal in the All India Inter University Youth Festival held under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities in Mysore in 2016.
The team was led by Dr Ranjan Kumar Kakati, Director, Students� Welfare, GU, and Kuldeep Patgiri.
