GU executive body expresses concern

GUWAHATI, April 30 � An emergent executive council meeting of the Gauhati University was held today to take stock of the situation in the aftermath of the police lathi-charge inside the administrative building campus on April 20 last.

�All members present discussed the matter and regretted that such an untoward incident took place and wanted the GU administration to take appropriate measures so that such incidents do not recur. Moreover, the University authority also expressed concern terming it unfortunate and uncalled for and expressed regret,� a press release issued by SK Nath, Registrar of the University, said, adding the GU authority �seeks cooperation of all concerned to resolve the matter.�
