GU B Ed final year exams from Sept 15

GUWAHATI, Sept 3 - After relentless protests by final year B Ed students, the Gauhati University administration today released the examination date sheet for the B Ed final year examination. The examination is scheduled to commence on September 15.

However, the schedule is subject to change for Covid-19 protocol of the authority concerned.

The GU students who have been protesting for the last three days, sat on protest today also in front of the Vice Chancellor�s office demanding holding of exams immediately.

The agitating students said that due to a delay in the examination the students could not apply for many jobs.

The practical exams of B Ed final year will be held from September 15 to 20 and the theory exams will be held from September 22 to 29.

The Gauhati University has already issued a standard operating procedure (SOP) for conducting its different examinations and also of its affiliated colleges and institutions.

According to the SOP, the final semester examinations will be conducted in blended mode by maintaining COVID-19 protocol and relevant SOP published by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Moreover, the question papers for offline examination will cover the whole syllabus but the students will need to attempt questions for only 50 per cent marks and the remaining 50 per cent marks will be calculated based on internal assessment.

As per the SOP, the matter of promotion of intermediate semester students will be considered on the basis of internal assessment marks and theory marks they scored in the earlier semesters.

Meanwhile, the GU made it clear that the matter of promotion is subject to the fact that students have completed the online submission of examination forms.
