By A Sports reporter

GUWAHATI, Aug 30 - Gauhati Town Club managed to play a 2-2 goal against in-form FC Green Valley and earned a vital point in an exciting match of RG Baruah Super Division League, organised by Guwahati Sports Association, on a damp outfield of the Nehru Stadium on Sunday.

Goals from fleet footed striker Michael Lucky and Lucky Imran put Green Valley in lead at break. Dhanjit Brahma scored the both goals for GTC in each half.

The match started with both the sides making repeated attempts to make inroads into their opponents territory although it was in the 11th minute of play which saw Green Valley broke the deadlock. A fine corner by promising star Prabal Deka found Michael Lucky in front of the goal who made no mistake.

Another corner produced equalizer for GTC boys in the 26th minute. It was skipper Lenin Angom whose corner was well read by Dhanjit Brahma to flick the ball into the net. The maroon brigade failed to take lead when Ningthoujam Binan missed a sitter from a point blank range in the 30th minute. The remaining of the first half witnessed play mostly being confined to the midfield.

But just before the half time Michael Lucky from the left flank provided a gem of a minus in the 44th minute which was finely guided into the net by Lunky Imran with a beautiful header to make 2-1.

GTC boys tried hard after the lemon break but their frontlines missed the opportunities. Lenin Angom took a powerful strike from the edge of the box although failed to find the target in the 66th minute before he missed another golden chance from a corner. But the real chance came in the 83rd minute and Dhanjit Brahma drew parity off a measured centre from left flank sent by Green Valley defender Davinder Singh. This was GTCs second draw in three matches while after two easy wins Green Valley played first draw today
