GTC outplay GDSA Academy

GUWAHATI, March 14 - Gauhati Town Club (GTC) outplayed Goalpara District Sports Association Academy (GDSAA) by four wickets in their league match of the Assam Premier Club Championship (Headquarters Zone) at the Judges� Field here on Thursday.

Opting to bat, GDSA Academy were all out for 135 runs in 38 overs with Sambhav Jain being the top scorer (38 runs off 85 balls). For Gauhati Town Club, Bikash Chetry and Deep Borah picked up three wickets each conceding 17 and 29 runs respectively while Neeraj Tiwari bagged two wickets for 13 runs in 6 overs.

In reply, Gauhati Town Club notched up the winning target losing six wickets in 25.3 overs. Nayanjyoti Deka top scored with 41 runs off 56 deliveries laced with six boundaries while Amit Boro and Avijit Sinha Roy contributed 33 and 32 runs respectively. For GDSAA, Mausam Rabha was the pick of the bowlers with a haul of three wickets for 38 runs in 6.3 overs while Akash Sengupta and Dhrubajyoti Das scalped a wicket each.

Brief scores: GDSAA 135 all out in 38 overs (Sambhav Jain 38, Devraaj Shrestha 17, Bikash Chetry 3/17, Deep Borah 3/29, Neeraj Tiwari 2/13). GTC 136/6 in 25.3 overs (Nayanjyoti Deka 41, Amit Boro 33, Avijit Sinha Roy 32, Mausam Rabha 3/38).
