GUWAHATI, Aug 5 - Gauhati Town Club (GTC) became the first team to enter the semifinals of the Guwahati Sports Association organised 11th NN Bhattacharyya Knock-out Football Tournament.
In the first quarterfinal match of the championship, played at the Nehru Stadium here today, Town Club trounced Mahabahu Sangha 2-0. Lalin Angom drew the first blood in the 10th minute with a set piece while Visal Kumar Sonar netted the second goal in the 18th minute.
The lack lustre second session went dry as no team could hardly put any pressure on the opponent.
