GUWAHATI, July 9 - Gauhati Town Club (GTC) posted a big 7-0 victory against Narengi Sporting Club in today�s quarterfinal match of the 12th Nripendra Narayan Bhattacharyya Knock-out Football Tournament at the Nehru Stadium here.
In the completely one-sided affair the GTC boys netted three before the break dominating the proceeding from the word go.
The highlight of the match was a hat-trick by Imlingchaba who scored four goals. He scored the opening goal in the 5th minute while skipper Visal Kumar Sonar enhanced the margin in the 13th minute. Nyithong Magh scored GTC�s third goal in the 15th minute.
After the break Imlingchaba netted his second and team�s fourth goal in the 45th minute. After that Nyithong (61st minute) and Imlingchaba (85th and 90+) completed the rout as the Narengi players surrendered meekly.
