GTC boys champs

GUWAHATI, March 20 - Gauhati Town Club (GTC) emeged champions in the U-14 Latasil Challenge Inter Coaching Centre Cricket Tournament, organised by the River Rine Cricket Coaching Center at the Latasil playground here.

In the final played yesterday, the GTC boys defeated Lokhara Cricket Coaching Centre in Super Over as both the teams scored 173 runs each.

Individual prize winners: MoM: Dhruv Raaj Borah, MoS: Dhruv Raaj Borah, Best Batsman: Yogandhar Sing, Best Bowler: Dhruv Raaj Borah, Best Wicket Keeper: Yogandhar Singh (all GTC), Best All Rounder: Bibek Poudel (LCCC), Best Fielder: Kaustav Medhi (RRCCC- A), Promising Players: Neerju Nath (RRCCC-B), B), Devraj Sharma (RRCCC-A), Most Discipline Team: RRCCC- B.

Brief scores: GTC 173/5 (Dhruv Raaj Borah 60, Bishal Pratim Sarma 40, Yogandhar Singh 25, Bibek Poudel 2/31). Lokhara CCC 173 (Atul Singh 37, Shivam Mittal 31, Bibek Poudel 30, Shivaji Choudhury 3/33, Dhruv Raaj Borah 3/43).

Blue Star in semis

Tihu, March 20: Blue Star Club of Nalbari defeated After 55 Club by 6 wicket in a quarterfinal match of the Swahid Smriti Cricket Tournament today being played at the Nalbari College field organised by the Nabarun Club, Nalbari.

Put in to bat After 55 Club scored only 78 runs losing all the wickets in 15 over and in reply Blue Star gathered 79 in the 16th over losing 4 wicket.

In the second match, Welltrack Club edged past Sarthebari by 18 runs scoring 170 against 152 of Sarthebari.
