GUWAHATI, Dec 8 � Gauhati Town Club emerged champions in the T20 Ana Matin U-17 Cricket Tournament with a thin 2-run victory against host Noonmanti Cricket Academy in the keenly contested final at the Judges� Field here today.
Opting to bat first Gauhati Town Club boys managed to score 114 in the stipulated 20 overs losing 9 wickets. Abhinandan Singh was their top scorer with 29 while Neeraj Sharma was other leading scorer with 22.
But, despite two solid knocks by Subhankar Chakravorty (43 off 46 balls) and Abinash Terang (32 off 33 balls) Noonmati CA failed to hit the target as they fell just 2 runs short scoring 112 for 7 in 20 overs.
