GUWAHATI, Nov 29 - Sports Authority of India (SAI) athletes occupied the top position while Sarusajai Athletic Coaching Centre secured the second spot in the Guwahati Sports Association (GSA) organised Kanak Ch Baruah and Dipti Baruah Memorial Inter Club, Inter Institution Athletic Meet held yesterday at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Sarusajai here.
Altogether 22 clubs and schools participated in the championship which was inaugurated by Dharma Kanta Milli, Director of Sports and Youth Welfare.
Sarif Ullah, former secretary of Assam Athletic Association and Mousleuddin Ahmed, former vice president of Assam Athletic Association were also present on the occasion. The GSA flag was hoisted by general secretary Dhruba Jyoti Kalita. Chief guest in the closing ceremony was joint secretary of Assam Athletic Association, Nipon Das, who handed over the champions� trophy. The runners-up trophy was given by donor Chandamita Baruah.
