Group Commander visits NCC camp at JNV, Dhing

NAGAON, May 6 - Brigadier K Srinivas Rao, Group Commander of Tezpur Group, visited the NCC�s combined annual camp that is being held at the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Dhing since May 2 last.

Speaking on the occasion, Rao exhorted the cadets to exemplify the basic motto of National Cadet Corps � unity and discipline � in their lives. He also urged them to imbibe the leadership qualities, spirit of nationalism and selfless service.

Further, he stressed on the importance of self-discipline and honesty which should be the second nature of each and every cadet. Sharing his experience as an NCC cadet, Group Commander Rao said that NCC training inspired him to join the Indian Army. He also appreciated the smart turnout of the cadets and conduct of the camp.

He expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Shillong, Colonel Vinoy Malhotra, Commanding Officer of 8th Battalion, NCC and the Principal of JNV, Dhing for providing the campus for holding the camp.

Interestingly, a total of 550 cadets from various schools and colleges of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh participated in the first camp which would continue till May 11 next.
