GUWAHATI, March 26 - The grocery section of shopping malls and department stores in Kamrup Metropolitan district have been exempted from the lockdown with effect from March 26, with the conditions being that only grocery items will be allowed to sell and that items will have to be sold at the current market prices. They have been strictly warned against selling items at higher rates.
�Penal action will be initiated if hoarding of items and selling of items at higher prices is reported,� an official release said.
The release added that only five persons would be allowed to enter a shop at a time and the management would maintain social distancing.
�Shop owners and managements will frequently sanitise the marts and shops and maintain hygiene. Use of plastics will not be allowed,� it added.
