Grievances of Kaziranga people will be addressed: Mani Madhav Mahanta

By Correspondent

KAZIRANGA, April 5 - The alliance candidate of BJP and AGP for Kaliabor Parliamentary Constituency Mani Madhav Mahanta said that he would do his best to ensure that provision of four lane is made at National Highway 37 passing adjacent to Kaziranga National Park and he would definitely raise this issue at Parliament if he won the election to ensure that proper justice is done to the people of Kaziranga.

He was speaking today at Kohora during his election campaign where he assured the people of Kaziranga that whatever grievances they had would be addressed without any delay including the issue of proposed eco-sensitive zone in Kaziranga.

Local AGP leader Photic Bora who had been campaigning for Mahanta from village to village in the greater Kaziranga area said people of Kaziranga have not seen the present Member of Parliament from Kaliabor Gaurav Gogoi during the last five years except the Congress party workers. People had already lost faith on Gogoi who is now depending on the support of AIUDF to win the election.

Bora said Gogoi being MP did not even feel the need to maintain relationship with the local people of Kaziranga and no developmental work was being carried out for Kaziranga. This is very disappointing, said Bora.

Kaliabor Parliamentary Constituency candidate Mahanta said the he would also ensure that concrete measures are taken to tackle the flood and erosion problem in Kaziranga and take necessary steps for the protection of Kaziranga National Park.

Bora admitted that there would be a tough fight between BJP-AGP candidate Mani Madhav Mahanta and Congress candidate Gaurav Gogoi but expressed confidence that Mahanta would win election by a good margin.
