GUWAHATI, June 20 FC Green Valley will host Guwahati FC in their Assam State Premier League football championship at the Nehru Stadium here tomorrow.
Although FC Green Valley FC seems to be favourite in tomorrows match considering their performance so far in this championship, a keen contest is on the cards as the newly formed Guwahati FC players are raring to go for a kill.
But as far performance is concerned, FC Green Valley is a fine-tuned team and their two Nigerian strikers Michael Luckey and George Prince are in good shape. Their mid-fielders and defenders are also providing able support to the striking duo.
The Guwahati FC players are still look rusty and their performance is far from expectations. Their Nigerian striker NB Opara was trying hard with some solo efforts to crack the opponent defence, but it was not enough.
Till date, FC Green Valley has collected 16 points from six matches and is leading the Lower Assam Zone points table. Guwahati FC is in the third spot with eight points from equal number of matches.
Today, Tezpur United downed Udalguri FC 2-1 in their away match at Udalguri and grabbed second spot with 10 points. Rahul Saikia netted both the goals for the Tezpur team in the fifth and 62nd minute respectively while Derhasak Narzary scored the lone goal for the host team in the 49th minute.
