NAGAON, Nov 13 - Nagaon Govt Boys� HS School was presented the �Dr Jiten Gohain Memorial Green Award� for taking up cleanliness drive, at a function held here today.
The award has been introduced for the first time and will be conferred to a Government-run educational institute every year to encourage for a green and healthy environment. Noted innovator, Dr Uddhab Bharali presented the award to Dipika Laskar, Principal of Nagaon Govt Boys� HS School. Dr Bharali, in his speech, underscored the need to create awareness among the pupils on green environment to save flora and fauna.
Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader, Rajen Gohain graced the occasion and also released a book titled �Vidyarthi Sarothi�. On the other hand, Dr Bharali in the evening took part in an interactive programme with the students at Nowgong College which was presided by Dr Sarat Borkatoki and anchored by Dr Bhuban Chandra Chutia.
