Grassroots workers to ensure home quarantine norms in Hailakandi district

By CORRESPONDENT

HAILAKANDI, June 14 - To ensure that people follow full-fledged home quarantine norms, the Hailakandi district administration has launched a massive operation to engage Anganwadi, Poshan Abhiyaan, Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) and Mamata workers and contain the spread of COVID-19 in both rural and urban areas of the district.

Anganwadi, MSK, Mamata and Poshan Abhiyaan workers have been instructed to ensure that people follow home quarantine norms. Every person coming from outside along with their family members under home quarantine are being monitored by Anganwadi, MSK and other workers under Mamata and Poshan Abhiyaan schemes in both rural and urban areas across the district, said Jyotirmoy Daimary, SDO (Sadar) and in-charge of the COVID-19 Suraksha Monitoring Cell.

Rajat Chakraborty, district coordinator of Poshan Abhiyaan, said that apart from the COVID-19 Suraksha Monitoring Cell, there is also a block-level health tracking system to keep a tab on the persons under home quarantine in real-time.

Almost every day, the number of people under home quarantine is increasing by leaps and bounds and it reached 1,158 on Friday.

With this in view, a COVID-19 Suraksha dashboard has been created to monitor home quarantined persons vis-a-vis as to whether they are complying with quarantine norms as well as tracking their health status.

A QR code is generated against every person under home quarantine, making it easier for keeping a track on the dashboard. The QR code gets deactivated once a person completes a home quarantine period.

Anganwadi workers, Poshan officials, Mamata and MSK workers are uploading daily health status of home quarantined persons after visiting them via COVID-19 Suraksha mobile app, said Daimary, adding that these regular visits help find out whether the persons under home quarantine are following the quarantine norms or not.

Several cells have been formed under COVID-19 Suraksha which include Technical Cell, Monitoring Cell, Administrative and Training Cell for district level, block (rural) and urban areas.

As many as 377 Anganwadi workers, besides Mamata, MSK and Poshan workers together with several officials are engaged in the exercise and this has really paid off in terms of keeping a check on the health conditions of the home quarantined people in real-time and in containing the disease.
