DERGAON, Nov 10 - Ghanakanti Bora (65), a resident of Holowgaon under Dergaon PS in Golaghat district, was hacked to death by her grandson last night.
Dergaon Police Station OC Kulesh Jyoti Bhuyan told this correspondent that the grandmother was allegedly attacked with a machete (dao) at around 1.30 am last night.
The OC also said the accused Babu Bora (22), son of Dhiren Bora, was arrested and the weapon was seized.
Though the reason for the murder was not ascertained, the police investigation is going on.
