GUWAHATI, Oct 31 - A group of people residing in the Ward No. 22 of the city recently filed a complaint with the Office of Inspector General of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption alleging graft in the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
The complaint, signed by 24 persons of the ward, stated that a section of local politicians has collected money amounting hundreds of rupees from some of the beneficiaries against giving LPG connection under the scheme.
The complainants alleged that these middlemen did not provide any receipt against the new LPG connection and even misappropriated the money provided by the government as subsidy.
Copies of the same complaint have also been submitted to the office of deputy commissioner of police of central district, the assistant commissioner of police, Noonmati and the Noonmati Police Station.
