By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, March 5 - The Guwahati Press Club Election Committee has appealed to all voters, candidates, their polling agents and supporters to cooperate with it in conducting the GPC Election-2020 successfully.

Voters must bring their ID cards issued by the respective media houses while collecting their voter slips for casting their votes on March 12, 2020. Election officials present at the polling centre would issue voters slips after confirming the voters identity. All voters are requested to come prepared with their voter number already published in the final voters list. Candidates should submit the names of their polling agents along with two copies of passport size photographs and the specimen signatures of both candidates and their respective agents on March 6 and March 7 (between 12 pm and 3 pm), it said in a statement.

Each candidate is entitled to have one polling agent, and candidates and their agents will be issued I-cards by the GPC Election Committee which they must wear on the polling and counting day.

Voting time has been preponed from 9 am to 8 am on March 12 but polling will be over at 4 pm as per the earlier schedule. Campaigning for the polls will end at 8 am of March 11 instead of 10 am of the same date as announced earlier due to preponement of the voting time.
