GPC decries attack on Arnab

GUWAHATI, April 23 - The Guwahati Press Club (GPC) today condemned the attack on the editor-in-chief of Republic TV Arnab Goswami and has urged the Mumbai Police to take appropriate action against the culprits.

�There is a rule of law in our country and such acts cannot be condoned no matter what the circumstances,� GPC president Manoj Kumar Nath and general secretary Sanjoy Ray said in a statement.

Expressing concern over recurring incidents of�attack on journalists across the country, including Assam, the GPC also urged the Assam government to bring in a law for safety and security of mediapersons.

Masks distributed: City-based Hayat Hospital distributed around 200 masks and sanitizer bottles to people from the field of journalism on the premises of the Press Club here on Thursday.
