GUWAHATI, April 25 � The Assam government has not yet been able to ascertain the exact number of people from the State who are now in earthquake-hit Nepal.

Official sources told The Assam Tribune that Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has directed the Chief Secretary to remain in constant touch with the External Affairs Ministry and the Indian High Commission in Nepal.

So far the exact number of people from Assam, who are now in Nepal, is yet to be ascertained as the External Affairs Ministry is now busy trying to trace all the Indian citizens in Nepal.
